The ninth and eighteenth holes bring players back toward the beautiful clubhouse and provide a fitting finish to the round at Bosch Hoek. As on the previous hole, the canal once again runs along the left-hand side, while a generous fairway and open space to the right provide a safer target from the tee. The approach into the green is slightly obscured by a greenside bunker on the right, creating the illusion that the putting surface is much closer than it actually is. As a result, many golfers tend to leave their second shot one club short.
Pro Insight:
One of my favourite driving holes on the course, the ninth and eighteenth encourage a confident, committed tee shot. Space is your friend here, provided your target line favours the right half of the fairway away from the canal. A good drive should leave somewhere between 150 and 180 metres into the green. The approach shot can be deceptive, as the sloping bunker on the right makes the green appear much closer than it truly is. I suggest taking one extra club and aiming for the centre of the green. More often than not, you will be pleasantly surprised with the result.
